In March of 1972, Richard Balcom, a former Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, founded Photo-Scan of Los Angeles, Inc.(PSLA). PSLA quickly became a leader in the commercial surveillance video market. Our success in providing and servicing innovative and reliable systems naturally led to expansion into access control, intrusion detection, and fire alarm systems. Using his knowledge of security, Dick has built a company that designs, installs and maintains security systems either on a Lease (including maintenance) or Purchase (with maintenance agreement) basis. PSLA is now a second-generation family owned business.
For over 40 years, we have established a marketing and service area in Southern California. PSLA has evolved into one of the leading system integrators in the western United States. PSLA is also a founding member of the PSA Security Network, for installation and service continuity on a national basis. Our company is renowned for engineering solutions that deliver a lower overall cost of ownership than our competitors.
PSLA has one of the few UL 2050 certification listings for the region. This certification is required for government “sensitive compartmented information facility” (SCIF) and other specialized containers and TSC systems.
Collectively, PSLA key-employees have an impressive 172 years of industry experience. PSLA possess genuine talent in terms of long-term employees that have tremendous depth in practical applications.
